Southern Spiced Rice

  • Sauté pan with a lid

Instructions

  1. Preheat your sauté pan over medium heat, then add your butter. When it starts to sizzle, add in all your spices. Cook them until fragrant.
  2. Add your rice to the pan and stir until coated in your spiced butter. Cook a further 2-3 minutes until the rice is toasted and starting to turn golden.
  3. Add the water to the pan and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook on low for 10 minutes. 
  4. Turn off the heat and leave in place to steam for a further 10 minutes, then remove the lid and fluff with a fork and serve.
